Fresh Kaduna Attack: Terrorists Kidnap 87 In Kajuru LGA

2 Min Read

Terrorists launched a fresh attack on the Kajuru-Station community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday night, kidnapping 87 people.

Harisu Dari, a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers also looted shops, stealing food items and valuables from the villagers. The Herald gathered that the invasion occurred around 10 pm.

This comes just two days after another kidnapping incident in the Dogon-Noma community of the same local government, where 15 women and a man were abducted.

Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas have witnessed a surge in kidnapping activities in recent weeks, leading to heightened tension in the state.

Harisu Dari revealed that, as of the morning after the attack, no security operatives had been deployed to the community to reassure and protect the villagers.

He expressed concern over the traumatic experience faced by the residents and called for urgent government intervention to address the escalating terrorist attacks.

In the past two weeks alone, over 172 villagers have been kidnapped by terrorists in Kaduna State.

Meanwhile, gunmen who abducted 287 students and teachers from the LEA Primary School and the Government Secondary School in Kuriga, Kaduna State, last week demanded N1 billion for their release.

The kidnappers have given a deadline of March 27, 2024, for the payment of the ransom.

According to reports, the bandits contacted a spokesperson for the families of the hostages last Tuesday to make their demand.

Jubril Aminu, acting as the spokesperson, revealed that the kidnappers demanded N1 billion ransom for the release of all the abducted pupils, students, and staff members.
