The Nigerian Bar Association has announced that the body still recognises Justice Walter Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
The NBA also issued a directive to its members across the country to boycott courts on Tuesday and Wednesday in protest against President Muhammadu Buhari’s suspension of Onnoghen last Friday.

The development came after a meeting of NBA’s National Executive Committee comprising its branch chairmen and past presidents and the executive committee of the association.
The association insists that due process was not followed by Buhari in suspending Onnoghen, and swearing in Tanko Muhammad as his replacement.
The NBA also set up a committee led by former presidents of the association, Chief Wole Olanipekun and Abubakar Mahmud, to engage lawyers serving in the Buhari administration with a view to finding a lasting solution to lingering crisis.
