“Fraudsters Should Be Arrested Alongside Their Girlfriends” – Actress Etinosa

2 Min Read

Nollywood actress, Etinosa Idemudia has revealed that police officers should also arrest the girlfriends of fraudsters.

She said this with reference to Hushpuppi’s girlfriend who is enjoying her life with her new boyfriend on instagram, regardless of Hushpuppi’s current situation.

Etinosa said: “There’s one nonsense thing Police does that i do not like. When they successfully arrest an internet fraudster, they will not arrest the girlfriend, it is not fair. They are supposed to arrest the both of them because if they don’t do that, the girl might go on to meet another boy after she must her enjoyed the money of the former boyfriend.”

This comes after Dubai police released a video, detailing the arrest of Hushpuppi.

In a video shared by the police, they explained how they arrested Nigerian gang leader Hushpuppi.

Hushpuppi’s scam was to create websites that looked identical to well-known companies and banks, the video alleged.

Hushpuppi and his team then used emails and messages to prompt people to log in or make payments on the fake sites. The gang hacked corporate emails and directed huge payments by companies towards accounts they controlled.

A senior prosecutor told The National: “They would send out letters from email addresses almost identical to those of legitimate companies, targeting customers of these companies, with the purpose of diverting payments to themselves.

“Initial information includes that he was part of this gang which fraudulently obtained cash and cars from people.

“His statement was taken by prosecution but this is just the beginning of prosecution investigations.”
