Some 41,000 homes were without electricity on Wednesday due to overnight snow in France, electricity supplier Enedis said.
Further snowfalls were expected in some parts of north-eastern France and southern areas of the Massif Central mountain range, national forecaster Meteo France warned.
In Paris, residents woke up to see parks and green areas covered in snow, although roadways were mostly clear.
Further north in Lille, Meteo France said snow was 12 centimetres deep.
Authorities had asked motorists to leave work on Tuesday and stay off the roads until Wednesday at the earliest.
Enedis said it expected to restore power to almost all affected households by Wednesday. (dpa/NAN)
