Oyeyemi further disclosed that FRSC has sealed a partnership with the Nigerian Ports Authority in other to ensure that the safety rules are maintained, by denying exit access to any trailer without meeting the full conditions of proper latching of containers.

He reiterated that there is an immense danger of improperly latched or unlatched containers to the lives and properties of commuters.

Over the years, there have been reports of fallen containers which have occasioned the deaths of many, as this is one of the major reasons the directive is being issued.

Oyeyemi also stated that fallen containers occasion several road obstructions that breed unbearable traffic on the road, affecting motorists and road users.
