Four South Korean workers kidnapped earlier this week in Bayelsa State have been released, says the spokesman of the Korean Foreign Ministry early Saturday.
The South Koreans who are staff of Hyundai Heavy Industries, a Korean company, were working on a construction site when they were abducted by armed men on Monday.
They were freed on Friday unhurt, said the spokesman.
Two Nigerians had been kidnapped along side the Koreans. While one was released immediately, there’s still no information about the other, says Hyundai.
There was no disclosure if a ransom was paid.
Armed gangs have frequently kidnapped expatriates in the oil-rich Niger Delta in exchange for ransom.
