Four persons were burnt to ashes in an accident which occurred on Lokoja-Okene road in the early hours of Friday.
The victims were among the 14 people that were involved in the accident involving two J5 buses with registration numbers Katsina KZR 321 ZT and Plateau XB 609 JTA.
Mr Ogochukwu Ugboma, the Kogi State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who confirmed the accident, said that seven other persons were critically injured.
Three other persons escaped unhurt.
Ugboma said that the accident occurred at a spot in Irepeni Village.
He said that the accident happened at about 5:00 a.m and identified sleep on the part of one of the drivers as the possible cause.
According to Ugboma, all the injured persons have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja for treatment. (NAN)
