2 Min Read

Kidnappers of former Presidential Candidate under the All Peoples Party, Chief Olu Falae, who was kidnapped on his farm in Akure, Ondo state on Monday have reportedly demanded a ransom fee of N100 million.

Just last week, Tosin, wife of the Deputy Managing Director of The SUN newspaper, Mr Steve Nwosu was kidnapped and the kidnappers demanded the same sum of N100 million to release her.

She was later released without any record of a ransom fee having been paid to secure her release.

Chief Falae was abducted around 1pm on his farm in Ilado village, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo state by gun-wielding kidnappers who were said to be around 20.

The gunmen were said to have mal-handled his farm workers numbering over 200 before taking the 77-year-old former Secretary to the Federal Government away to an undisclosed location.

The kidnappers are said to have contacted authorities to make the ransom demand around 3.30pm.

Men of the Nigeria Police, Ondo State Command are said to have been deployed to the area to seek his whereabouts as at this afternoon.

Furthermore, the Ondo State Government has also reportedly conveyed an emergency Security Council meeting to discuss the statesman’s kidnapping.
