There is drama brewing between Big Brother Naija housemates past and present. Maryanne Ahneeka Iwuchukwu, a contestant from a previous season, recently criticized the show’s winner, Phyna, for publicly calling out the organizers over missing prize money.
Phyna reportedly became emotional on social media, claiming the show owes her 1BTC, a cryptocurrency prize currently valued at over N100 million. However, Ahneeka disagrees with Phyna’s approach.
In a podcast interview, Ahneeka argued that Phyna and other winners shouldn’t feel entitled to the prizes. She believes Phyna’s newfound fame, going from hundreds of followers to millions, might have inflated her sense of importance.
Ahneeka suggests Phyna should have handled the situation differently. “Maybe she has tried to talk to the organizers privately, but going on social media seems unwise,” Ahneeka commented.
She concluded by reminding Phyna that winning the competition wasn’t guaranteed and advised her to focus on managing her newfound fame.
