Garba Nadama, a former governor of old Sokoto State has died at the age of 82 on Monday, May 4 after a protracted illness.
According to Daily Nigerian report, sources from the family disclosed that announcement will be made shortly regarding the burial rites of late Nadama.
“The death of Alh. Garba Nadama (Former Governor of Sokoto State) has been announced. We pray to Allah (SwT) to forgive his shortcomings and make Jannatul Firdaus as his final home, Aameen.”

Late Nadama became governor of Sokoto State in 1981 after serving as a deputy governor in 1979 to Shehu Kangiwa who died in power.
He was subsequently elected in 1983 through the defunct National Party of Nigeria, NPN.
