Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is in mourning as she loses her father Obi Chukwuka Okonjo. The father of the former Minister was a Monarch. He was the Obi of Ogwashi Uku, Aniocha South LGA, Delta state.
His Royal Majesty Obi, was a Professor of Mathematics who ascended the throne of his ancestors in 2007, died at the ripe age of 91 in the United States of America.

Traditional rites have been performed on the deceased and a new Monarch has been crowned.
The new Monarch Ifekwude Chukwuka Okonjo is an Expert in Finance management and also the CEO of Chevy Chase Consulting.
The traditional rites to be observed before Ifekwude Okonjo becomes a full Monarch include the endorsement and presentation by the Umu Obi Obahai Royal Family of Ogwashi-Uku, the traditional chalking and lastly crowning ceremonies which would be conducted by the Ikelike and Agidiehi Kingmakers in Ogwashi Uku.
