Former CAN chairman becomes Bishop of Faith Chapel

Pastor David Omorinoye, a former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Irepodun LGA of Kwara, has been ordained the first Bishop of the Bible Faith Evangelical Mission Inc.

Omorinoye, a Senior Pastor of the church, was decorated with the paraphernalia of office as Bishop on Tuesday at the church’s headquarters in Omu-Aran.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Omorinoye was proclaimed the bishop in November 2017 at a special session of the church also known as Faith Chapel.

He is currently the Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Omu-Aran Chapter.

Bishop Chuks Nnaji, the General Overseer, Family of God Charismatic Ministries, who presented the certificate to Omorinoye, said that his elevation was based on merit.

Nnaji described the new bishop as a devoted servant of God.

He said that Omorinoye’s with exceptional qualities endeared him to members of the church.

“With this consecration, he becomes the first Presiding Bishop of Bible Faith Evangelical Mission Inc.,” Nnaji said.

In a sermon, Nnaji advised religious leaders to strive to maintain righteousness to be able to go closer to God.

He said that righteousness and devotion to God’s work would make clerics to gain confidence of members of their congregations.
According to him, it is when a leader recognises God as the `Alpha and Omega’ that such he can be elevated spiritually and socially.

“It is only when you stay with him and stick to him that you receive the desired blessings,” he said.

The church’s Secretary, Pastor Atolagbe Joseph, described Omorinoye’s elevation as God-ordained.
“Omorinoye’s outstanding performances and sterling qualities endeared him to church leaders and members,” he said.

Responding, Omorinoye expressed gratitude to God and the church for the opportunity given to him to serve as a bishop.

He promised to be more dedicated.
