Josephine Otabor, widely recognized as Phyna and a former winner of Big Brother Naija, has found herself in the midst of a legal predicament as she has been invited by the Nigeria Police in connection to an alleged failure to return a rented wig after the expiration of the rental period.
The controversy arose when a hair vendor publicly accused Phyna of refusing to return a wig that was reportedly rented, asserting that the reality TV star had exceeded the agreed-upon rental duration.
Initially denying the allegations, Phyna later took to her social media to admit to renting the wig but claimed she returned it after the public call-out. However, she alleged that the hair vendor rejected the returned wig, citing damages to the hair as the reason.
In a recent video shared via her social media page, Phyna revealed that the situation had escalated, with the hair vendor involving the police. She explained that the hairstylist, accompanied by two police officers and an unidentified woman, visited her house and left a letter in her absence.
The letter, which originated from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Nigeria Police Ogudu, invited Phyna to the police station for questioning.
In her video statement, Phyna expressed her uncertainty about the situation and acknowledged the legal implications of the police invitation. She vowed to find out more details about the matter and address it appropriately.
