The Police have presented another report on the investigations into the alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Orders by the Senate leadership in 2015.
The report has since been submitted to the National Prosecution Coordination Committee.
Media reports indicate that the fresh reports have indicted the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.
In October 6, 2016, the charges of criminal conspiracy relating to the alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Orders, 2015, filed against the Senate President and his deputy were withdrawn following inconclusive evidence.
This left only the former Clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa and his deputy, Ben Efeturi as defendants.
However, the Special Investigation Panel, headed by the retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Ali Amodu, explained that Maikasuwa could not have committed the alleged offence without the connivance of the two principal officers.
Saraki and Ekweremadu may soon face a renewed trial.
