Sacked Cameroonian player, Samuel Nlend, has returned to his country, following the decision of Egyptian football club, Al Ittihad management to throw him out for testing positive to HIV.
The 21-year-old player was sacked four days after he signed a new deal with the football club.
Present at the airport to receive him were his friends, family, teammates and fans.
However, following the sack which was described as a public show of shame, Cameroonians have called for the club to be sued for its actions and for violating the player, Samuel Nlend’s right to privacy.
Taking up the matter, the Syndicate National des footballeurs camerounais, SYNAFOC, promised to take up the issue legally.
Welcoming the player home, David Eto’o said: “We are happy to see our teammate in great shape because he is important for our team. We will put all of us together to work for good end of season.”
