Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) have urged the Federal government to focus on the welfare of the people.
Vice-President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), Dr. Nat Ofo made this statement while speaking with newsmen shortly after a roundtable on Corporate Governance organised by the Institute at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island Lagos.
Ofo said “Looking at the Amnesty International report which has dubbed Nigeria as one of the corrupt countries, the rot in the system is expected.
“The way forward for Nigeria is to focus on the welfare of the people. Government should let the welfare of the people be paramount in whatever it does.”
Ofo also commended President Muhammadu Buhari on the bailout given to the states, he said “The bailout package is in order because the money is from the dividends from LNG which the states have been agitating for. The President did not discriminate as all the states benefitted from the package not APC states most of which owe workers’ salaries and pensions.”
