Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has advised critics of APC vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima to focus on his brilliance rather than his appearance.
Fani-Kayode said this in a Facebook post on Tuesday while reacting to the controversy generated by Shettima’s appearance at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)’s Annual General Conference on Monday.
The former Borno governor was the butt of jokes on social media for wearing jogging sneakers on his suit.
He was also lampooned for wearing an oversized suit and failing to unbutton the suit while in a sitting position.

But sharing a video of Shettima delivering a speech at the NBA conference, Fani-Kayode said, “Instead of appreciating the brilliance and profundity of his passion, eloquence, intellect, knowledge and delivery some are obsessing about his suit, tie and shoes!
“Congrats to my friend and brother His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, Nigeria’s incoming Vice President, for a superlative performance at the NBA conference yesterday!
“You did us proud!”
