No fewer than five persons were killed this week following heavy flooding in many parts of Adamawa State on Tuesday.
Three were from Yola North local government, while the other two victims were from Lamurde and Song council areas in the state.
The flooding caused by downpour recorded across the state according to reports also wreaked havoc in several other council areas and sacked thousands from their homes.

According to the transitional chairman, Yola North Local Government Council, Adamu Ibrahim, who spoke with journalist after assessing the damage caused by the flood said three children, in Yola North, died from the floods which submerged over 20,000 houses.
It was also gathered that the deaths recorded in Yola North council area occurred in three different locations, namely Kasuwa Buwu, Kofare and Bachure, which were the areas worst hit by the incident.
The state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, visited Bachure and Jambutu which were among areas affected by the flooding.
