BREAKING: Five feared dead as Sagamu protest turns into bloodbath

Five people may have lost their lives in the protest against operatives of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) as Police officers fired live ammunition to disperse the erring crowd in Sagamu area of Ogun state.

A report by The Nation claims, two policemen were among the victims who lost their lives in the protest.

 

The Herald earlier reported that people came out en masse to protest the unlawful killing of Remo stars player, Tiamiyu Kazeem who was allegedly shot by a SARS operative.

 

Tiamiyu Kazeem was killed last Saturday after he was accused of engaging in cyber fraud popularly called Yahoo-yahoo.

The protesters, who took to the streets, also stormed the palace of Akarigbo and the Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, demanding justice for the deceased.

The protesters condemned incessant brutality and indiscriminate arrests by law enforcement agents in the town and its environs.

It was gathered that apart from Daniel, a member of the House of Representatives representing Remo Federal Constituency, Mrs Adewunmi Onanuga, and the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Funmi Efuwape, were at the palace to appeal to the people.
