The First Look at ‘Black Panther’ Is Finally Here, As Teaser Trailer Hits The Internet

2 Min Read

The first teaser trailer of Creed director Ryan Coogler’s Marvel adaptation Black Panther revealed a movie that will tackle colonialism and ideas of monarchy, as well as the usual car-flipping action.

After making us wait eagerly for its release….the teaser trailer turned out to be every bit as intense as expected.

The Black Panther trailer, though, opens with Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) being schooled by a captured Ulysses Klaw (Andy Serkis) about how little the world knows about the mysterious country, Wakanda.

Flipping between the discussion and scences from Wakanda, the “clothing designs, weapons and uniquely cool outfits” sets the stage for an immensely explosive theme for a film to be released next year.

“Explorers have searched for it. Called it El Dorado,” Klaw explains. “They looked for it in South America, but it was in Africa the whole time.”

The voiceover goes on to predict that “soon there will only the conquerers and the conquered”, as armed groups attempt to stage what appears to be an invasion.

From then on…its BOOM!! As the rest of the trailer sets up some of Black Panther’s larger plot elements like the fact that the world, as a whole is changing as more of Wakanda’s riches are exposed.

T’Challa seems to face battle on every front and of every type; principally from Erik Killmonger who will be staging an insurrection against the royal family while Queen Mother Ramonda (Angela Bassett) from those who would do her harm.

Recall that Boseman made his first appearance as the Black Panther in the superhero ensemble Captain America: Civil War in 2016, and the movie is set to debut in February 16th, 2018.
