Afrobeats star Fireboy DML has addressed rumors of rivalry with his fellow YBNL Nation artist, Asake. In a recent interview with Lagos radio station Max FM, Fireboy emphasized the strong bond within the label.
Fireboy, known for his hit “Peru,” dismissed any notion of competition between himself and Asake. He explained that each artist has their own unique style, creating a situation where “everyone is on a different lane.”
“We could all drop our songs one week from each other and nobody would be angry,” Fireboy reassured fans. He went on to describe a genuine sense of brotherhood within YBNL Nation.
“There’s genuine love,” Fireboy stressed, using a humorous anecdote to illustrate the point. “There was a day Olamide and Asake helped loosen my hair. That moment was a very solemn moment for me,” he laughed. “There is no competition in YBNL.”
Fireboy further solidified the label’s focus on unity by revealing their shared goal of financial success. “YBNL Nation and its artists don’t get involved in industry brawls because our goal is to make money,” he concluded.
