While explaining how the incident went down, Ogun State’s commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Clement Oladele, accused the overspeeding tanker driver of being unprofessional and as being responsible for the accident.

He said, “The accident happened by the diversion at the Fidiwo end of the expressway and it was a head-on collision.

“The NNPC tanker was coming from Lagos and going towards Ibadan when the driver overtook the Mazda bus. He had not completely overtaken the bus when he collided with another tanker and went up in flames. There was no death; everybody was able to escape before we took them to the hospital.”
