The management of Italian club, Fiorentina has named the club’s training pitch after late captain, Davide Astori.
The 31-year-old Astori died in his sleep in his hotel room on March 4 in Udine, as Fiorentina prepared to take on Udinese.
The training ground is to be known as the ‘Centro Sportivo Davide Astori’.
The number 13 shirt used by the centre-back has also been rested by the club in his honour.
Fiorentina President, Mario Cognini said, “We’ve made this decision because that was his home.
“He went there every day for training and used to spend time there with his family too. We believe that honouring him in this way is the right thing to do.”
