Finally after a two-year absence, five emirs dislodged by the rampant Boko Haram sect have returned to their palaces.
The emirs had fled to Maiduguri when Boko Haram insurgents took over their communities in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of the state. They then declared the establishment of a Caliphate which left residents, including the emirs no option but to flee.
But with the military waging heavy war on the Insurgents and taking back territories, the Borno area has been deemed safe and the emirs have been able to return home.
Muhammadu Askirama of Askira, and Ismaila Mamza of Uba, two of the five, returned to their respective palaces yesterday with the Deputy Governor of Borno Mamman Durkuwa in tow.
