The Super Eagles team and four other African national teams going to Russia will receive $2 million advance to enable them pay team players bonuses before the World Cup games begins.
This agreement for Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco will help them settle player bonus issues according to The Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The image of African Football was badly affected at the previous World Cup due to financial disputes; as such, the payment will help prevent a recurrence.
The various Football Federations (32 in number) sending teams to the World Cup gets $1.5m each from FIFA to aid preparation and $8m or more after the games while the winner takes home $38 million.
