The travails of embattled Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele are far from over as the Federal Government has concluded plans to file 20 fresh charges against him.
Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) of the federation, Mohammed Abubakar made the disclosure during an interaction with reporters on the premises of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, on Tuesday.
Emefiele, who was suspended from office on June 10, is currently facing two charges bordering on illegal gun possession, before Justice Nicholas Oweibo.
Abubakar said that he had made an oral application to withdraw the gun possession charges before the court as a result of further investigations.
He disclosed that fresh charges with 20 counts had been filed against Emefiele at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
