The embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has revealed that the Nigerian government has offered him Biafra but he had to deny the offer.
Speaking on Wednesday, the pro-Biafra group leader revealed that he was offered Biafra while in prison but denied the offer because the states apportioned for him were just five South East States.
Kanu while speaking on the offer revealed that the five states contained in the offer did not consist of Rivers and Benue state hence his decision to turn down the offer.
He further revealed that along with the five states, the federal government offered him an oil block and mansion in Dubai, all aimed at making him abandon the Biafran cause.
Kanu who described the gifts as Greek gifts meant to buy him over said: “They gave me Biafra in prison with only the five Igbo states; I said no, I want Benue and Rivers.”
He added: “Biafra is coming, there is nothing to stop it.”
Speaking during a visit from the leaders of the Igbo Civil Society Coalition, led by Prof. Obasi Igwe, Kanu slammed the Igbo elites for denying him support.
During the visit in his Umuahia, Abia State home, Kanu noted that the Igbo elites have through their anti-Biafran activities showed that have no interest in the Igbo masses.
He added that the Igbo elites are selfish and do things which will only serve their interest.
