The Catholic Bishop of Minna Diocese, Martins Uzoukwu, on Monday advised the Federal Government to introduce drastic security measures, to end the killings of innocent Nigerians.
Uzoukwu expressed this viewpoint in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna.
He said that the time had come for the government to end the wanton destruction of lives and property of across the country.
The cleric said that the security agencies deployed should arrest and bring those behind such acts to justice.
According to the cleric, the herdsmen/farmers’ activities, the Boko Haram insurgency and cattle rustling pose serious threat to the nation’s corporate existence.
The cleric described the killings of innocent citizens in Benue, Zamfara, Kaduna,Plateau and Rivers as unfortunate and unacceptable.
Uzoukwu urged the government to adopt security measures that would guarantee the safety of Nigerians in any part of the country. (NAN)
