The Federal Government has successfully evacuated 160 Nigerians stranded in the United States as a result of the effect of COVID-19 across the globe.
According to reports, the 160 Nigerians, who are the first batch to be evacuated from the US, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja on Sunday, around 11:05 am.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, who confirmed their arrival said that “ET Flight 8509 conveying 160 Nigerian evacuees from the US has safely arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.”
He further stated that standard protocols will be followed as the returnees will be isolated for 14 days and tested for COVID-19 before dispatching them to their respective states.
