AC Milan President Adriano Galliani has confirmed he is in talks with Chelsea for Fernando Torres and Dutch youngster Marco van Ginkel.
The Italian team are willing to meet chelsea’s asking price for the Spaniard but are yet to agree personal terms with the player who currently earns £150,000 per week.
Chelsea are willing to let Van Ginkel leave on a season long loan so that he can get much needed playing time after suffering a cruciate ligament injury last year.
Milan are seriously looking to replace Mario Balotelli before window closes and have singled out Torres as their prime target. They are also looking at Liverpool striker Fabio Borini, Tottenham’s Roberto Soldado and Fulham’s Kostantinos Mitrogolu on a possible loan move if Torres refuses to join.
Speaking to the Milan’s TV channel. Galliani stated: ‘Our goal is to take a great striker. Fernando Torres? He is a great striker. Let’s see if he comes or someone else. We are actively working.
‘Van Ginkel? We are confident. We have made our proposal to Chelsea and are now waiting on an answer. We hope we can get him.’
