A suspected suicide bomber has revealed how she refused to detonate her explosives packed in a vest she wore into the Internally-Displaced Persons camp in Dikwa, Borno State.
Recall that two female suicide bombers on Tuesday walked into the camp, mixed with the IDPs queuing for food and detonated their instrument of death.
The suspect, a 14-year-old girl, said she ripped off her vest to avoid joining her two colleagues in the attack, because she knew she would kill people if she detonated the explosives.
The girl, whose name could not be ascertained, was interrogated by the Civilian Joint Task (CJTF) and is giving information about other planned attacks, a rescue official said.
Tuesday’s attack, the deadliest in recent months, left 58 persons dead and 78 others injured.
