The Nigerian Government has barred foreign owned Emirates Airline from operating in Nigeria’s airspace from September 21.
The ban was announced by Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika after a sub-committee from the Presidential Task Force (PTF) with European Union ambassadors to discuss the ban placed on Lufthansa, and Air France/KLM.

The service record of Emirates Airline was also reviewed during the meeting after which the decision was announced that they would be banned from operating in Nigerian Airports from Monday.
Prior to the resumption of International Flights in the country, the Government had announced a ban on Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, RwandAir, Air Namibia, Royal Air, South African Airlines and Cabo Verde had been banned from Nigerian Airports.
The Government said at the time that it would apply the principle of reciprocity to countries which banned flights from Nigeria to their countries.
