An adultery allegation involving the Managing Director of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Adam Nuru, has led to calls for Nigerian men to conduct a DNA test on their children to avoid paternity fraud.
The Herald earlier reported that the allegations were laid in a change.org petition started on December 30 seeking to “Compel the CBN & Board of FCMB to dismiss Adam Nuru on ethical grounds”.
In the petition by a movement called “Justice for Tunde Thomas”, it was alleged that the bank MD fathered two children with a married ex-employee, Moyo Thomas (nee Ojo), whose husband, Tunde Thomas reportedly died of cardiac arrest over the matter.
As reported by Sahara Reporters, the bank said it was investigating the allegations against its MD.

However, many Nigerians who took to Twitter over the weekend after the scandal broke urged men to secretly conduct a DNA test on their children to avoid Tunde Thomas’s situation.

JUST FOR MEN: Paternity fraud is very real. If you suspect infidelity, pls do a DNA test.
It can be done secretly.
All you need is the child’s toothbrush, nails or hair.
You are from Ogbomosho.
Your wife is from Alapere Ketu.
Pls why is your child looking Lebanese?

A child’s dad can order a DNA test.
All you need is the child’s hair, nails or blood. Job done. And it can be done secretly.
You don’t need to ask a woman before doing a DNA test. You don’t need her permission. At all.
Don’t let anybody guilt trip you.
Pass this on to all men.

Do DNA Test. Stop relying on “see as the baby resemble you”.
These people don’t have eyes.

My house will have a DNA test. It has nothing to do with insecurity; nothing to do with mistrust. But everything to do with prudence. I have seen & heard enough to act like an ignorant man. If I must raise another man's kid, it must be of my own volition. The old world is gone.
