FC Porto has won the Portuguese league after Saturday’s match between Sporting Lisbonand Benfica ended goalless.
This is the first time since 2013 that the 2004 Champions League winners managed by Sergio Conceição would clinch the title.
The goalless draw left Benfica four points adrift of FC Porto with the result securing goalkeeper Casillas with his first title since his transfer from Real Madrid.
Benfica and Sporting both have 78 points and one extra game to go, and the winner will join FC Porto to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
