Fayose to Punish 31 Civil Servants for Lateness

Ekiti State Govenor, Ayodele Fayose has said that he will punish 31 civil servants in the state for ‘coming late to work.’

Fayose who arrived at the state secretariat located along Ado-new Iyin road in company of the Head of Service, Dr Gbenga Faseluka caught the civil servants red handed.

Some of the civil servants were strolling in by 8:30 am; the governor described their actions as unacceptable. The affected workers prostrated and pleaded with the governor to forgive them.

Meanwhile, Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter also appealed to the governor to pardon the affected workers.

In a statement signed by TUC Secretary, Patrick Olayemi, the union said “We hereby plead with Mr. Governor to please pardon the affected workers as last warning to the public service.

“We promise to ensure adequate observance of our service rules with a view of justifying payment of our salaries and allowances.”
