Reactions have trailed the defection of Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Tambuwal made his decision known via a tweet from the Twitter handle of the Sokoto Government House (@SokotoGovtHouse) on Wednesday afternoon.
“I have consulted widely especially with the Sokoto people and they have confidently assured me of my next political move. I hereby defect officially to the @OfficialPDPNig. Power to the People,” the governor tweeted.
The explained in another tweet that the people of his state were fully in support of his decision to quit the ruling party.
He tweeted:

But many Nigerians have taken to Twitter to express their divergent reactions to the decision, which comes a day after Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed dumped the party, and barely a week after Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom did the same.
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose welcomed Tambuwal to PDP, stating that “ogether we must rescue Nigeria from these tyrants.”
Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode also said, “Glad that my friend and brother, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal, has left the Association of Pedophiles and Coprophiliacs (APC) and returned to the land of the living. He is a young, strong, vibrant, pragmatic, dynamic and inspiring leader who has much to offer. We are blessed to have him back!”

My second prediction has fully come to pass today. I said 2 Governors would leave the @OfficialAPCNg for the @OfficialPDPNig and Tambuwal became the second Governor to do so today. Now I make a further prediction-expect the EFCC in Kwara and Sokoto https://t.co/MTD8l8O3Ut
