The Ekiti state Govewrnor, Ayodele Fayose has finally confirmed one of the allegations leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The governor, through his Special Adviser on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka took to social media to confirm the presence of the sum of N300 million in one of the Zenith Bank Plc accounts seized by the anti-graft agency.
The governor’s aide in a series of messages under the hash tag ‘Fayose Speaks’ admitted to having fixed the sum in one of the accounts.
His aide tweeted: “I declared in my assets declaration form that I had N300m in my fixed deposit account in Zenith Bank #Fayose Speaks.”
Maintaining that he never had connection with the Office of the National Security Adviser as regards his campaign sponsorship, the tweets added: “I did not get money from the NSA Office to fund my election. It is just a conspiracy; it will fail like that of 2006.
“By the end of this month, we are starting a social welfare scheme in which 7,000 people will be getting N5, 000 per month #FayoseSpeaks
“We deceive ourselves too much in this country. Even our population that they said is 150 million is not true.”
