West Ham progressed to the EFL cup quarters with a win against Chelsea at a 2-1 lead which caused pandemonium at the London stadium.
Tensions heightened at the end of the game and the supporters of the great clubs clashed violently with bottles, seats and coins used as missiles.
The angry supporters made attempts to go through the segregation line and stewards tried their best to keep them apart and in check which failed woefully.
A Chelsea fan was spotted with a slight cut on his head which was bleeding after a coin hit him when an angry supporter of the second club threw it in the air.
According to a police man, a large number of Chelsea fans gathered together agitating for a fight as West Ham supporters were entering just a short distance away from them.
The angry crowd had to be separated, and restrained from going close to each other.
The angry fans got caught in a verbal exchange of words which increased their anger.
As Chelsea fans broke ranks and sticks, the response team became more worried with dozens of stewards running to the scene to calm the atmosphere.
