Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has hailed the decision of a Kano State Magistrate Court to grant bail to Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju.
Adeyanju had been in detention by the Nigeria Police Force over a culpable homicide case said to have been decided upon by the Kano State High Court in 2009.
An associate of Adeyanju, Oluyemi Fasipe confirmed that the Kano State Magistrate Court granted him bail today, after 63 days in detention.
“I can confirm to you that he has been granted bail. The bail bond consists of N50,000 and sureties with landed properties in Kano,” Sahara Reporters quoted Fasipe as saying.
He also took to Twitter to make the announcement.

Reacting, Fani-Kayode commended the court for granting the activist bail.
He said, “Great news that Deji Adeyanju has been granted bail after spending over 60 days in a Kano prison simply because he spoke truth to power.
“We give thanks to God. I am so proud of this deeply courageous and inspiring young man. Head bloodied but not bowed! Well done aburo!”
