Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has lambasted popular Catholic cleric, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka for allegedly soliciting funds from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before dishing out “favourable prophecies”.
In a video that has now gone viral, Father Mbaka prophesied that the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi would fail in their bid to unseat incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.
The vocal cleric, who is the Founder of the Adoration Ministry with headquarters in Enugu, was said to have placed a curse on the duo after Obi refused to pledge anything to help the church’s growth.
However, APC gubernatorial candidate in Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma was said to have pledged, on Buhari’s behalf, to build a hospital to assist the church.
Reacting via a post on his verified Twitter handle, Fani-Kayode, a PDP chieftain, wondered what necessitated the cleric’s curse on Atiku and Obi, describing it as “disgraceful”.
He urged Mbaka’s superiors in the Catholic Church to call him to order.
Fani-Kayode said, “I am disgusted by the words of Father Mbaka. It does not matter to me which candidate he supports but what galls me is his begging for money from both sides in return for favourable prophesies. This is disgraceful and his superiors in the Catholic Church should call him to order.”
