Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has berated former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, for saying that leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was “safe and well” in London.
Fani-Kayode made this known in a Wednesday tweet via his verified Twitter handle.
Kalu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had made the comment on Tuesday after visiting former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida in his hilltop residence in Minna, the Niger State capital, to drum support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term.
Speaking with reporters, Kalu said, “Nnamdi Kanu is where I told you he is; he is in London; he is safe.”
Pressed on Kanu’s exact location in London, the ex-Abia governor refused to divulge the location but insisted that Kanu was “safe and healthy”.

But Fani-Kayode disagreed with Kalu, insisting that Kanu was being held by the Nigerian military.
Recall that the controversial ex-minister had revealed earlier in the year that Kanu was being held on a naval ship off the coast of Bayelsa State since the September 14, 2017, invasion of his father’s house in Afaraukwu in Abia State.
Responding to Kalu’s statement, Fani-Kayode said, “Even though we disagree politically Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and I remain friends. I must however point out the fact that it is not true that Nnamdi Kanu is ‘safe and well’ in London as he has suggested. Nnamdi was abducted by the Nigerian military one year ago and is still missing.”
