Falz Reveals He Wasn’t Pressured to Study Law by His Father, Femi Falana

1 Min Read

Nigerian rapper Falz has opened up about his decision to study law, debunking claims that he was pressured by his father, renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana.

In an interview with Chude Jideonwo on the With Chude podcast, Falz shared that growing up, he was inspired by his father’s legacy and the impact he had on people’s lives. He recalled how people would often share stories of how his father had helped them, leaving a lasting impression on him.

“I wasn’t pressured; I aspired to emulate what he was doing,” Falz said.

Despite studying law, Falz only practiced for two years before pursuing music full-time. He worked at the Ministry of Justice during his youth service in 2012 and later at his father’s firm in 2013.

Falz’s music career took off in 2014, and he has since become a successful rapper and songwriter.
