2 Min Read

Two blood brothers were arrested by EFCC for posing as the Commission Agents and extorting Internet fraudsters on the guise that they would shield them from possible arrests from other agents of the commission.

Oluwayomi Beyioku (37) and Olatunji Joe Beyioku (35)  were arrested at Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Friday, November 15, 2019, during a sting operation. The Commission operatives had commenced on an inconspicuous investigation into the activities of the suspects when it was discovered that they are in the habit of the extorting ‘Yahoo Boys’ to help them avoid  arrest by the EFCC.

As stated by the EFCC, the suspects claimed to be spy police officers with the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, and have ‘assisted’ the Commission with information on the location of “Yahoo boys”  within the town. Others willing to pay are supposedly shielded while the ones who failed to meet their demands are exposed.

The Commission discovered that the brothers have made millions from Posing as EFCC agents while deliberately  undermining the Commission’s effort to capture internet fraudsters in the country. A search was conducted in the  younger brother’s multi-million naira residence along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and items recovered suggested that the brothers might be involved in all other forms of crimes. Items recovered from them include two cars, Honda Accord Crosstour and a Mercedes Benz GLK,  several mobile phones, and charms.
