The Niger Delta Avengers militant group announced a recent attack on one of Nigeria’s largest oil producing plant belonging to Exxon Mobil yesterday.
The Avengers in the release stated: “At about 7:30 pm, the Niger Delta Avengers blew up Exxon Mobil Qua Iboe 48″ crude oil export pipeline. When will these International Oil companies (IOC) learn to listen. We (Niger Delta Avengers) said no export”.
In reaction to the announcement, Todd Spitler, the spokesman of the company denied any attack on the Qua Iboe 48″ facility. He said: “there were no attacks on our facilities”.
The Niger Delta Avengers militant group has however responded to the denial by the oil company in a new statement issued by its spokesman, Brig. Gen Mudoch Agbinibo.
It said: “ExxonMobil can deny and fool the general public about their Export Pipeline blown yesterday. How long can they lie to their investors? Just in matter of days the whole world will see the truth. Qua Iboe 48” crude oil export pipeline is down so said the Avengers”.
