Exposed: Buhari To Spend N3.914bn On Maintenance Of Aso Villa, N103.470m On Food

President Buhari has budgeted N3.914bn for the maintenance of presidential villa.

The N3.914 billion is distinct from another N282.962m already set aside for the general maintenance services of state house (Headquarters), PUNCH reports.

The Aso villa will also spend N103.470m on foodstuff/catering materials supplies

An analysis of the N282.962m allocated to the “General Maintenance Services of State
House (Headquarters)” indicated that N13.620m for the maintenance of plants/ generators and N47.870m for “other maintenance services. N182.079m will be spent on maintenance of motor vehicles/transport equipment; N11.545m for the maintenance of office furniture; N27.846m for the maintenance of office/ Information Technology equipment;”

In 2014, Jonathan spent N12.2 billion on the State House, while in 2015, the government spent N6.6 billion for the presidential office, amid dwindling revenue occasioned by sliding oil prices.

Furthermore, an analysis of the N41.844m budgeted for “General Maintenance Services of State House Operations (Vice President)”revealed that N8.832m is for “other maintenance services, N4.422m for the maintenance of plants/generator; N27.139m is for the maintenance of motor vehicles/transport equipment and N1.451m for the maintenance of office furniture”
President Buhari  has promised more jobs, economic growth and a cut-down on frivolous spending.
