Amuwo Explosion: Sanwo-Olu To Give N2bn Relief fund To Victims

In response to the tragic Explosion that occured at Abule Ado, Amuwo Odofin on Sunday, the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has set up a N2 billion relief fund for victims of the explosion.

 

Sanwo-Olu said this during a visit with his delegation to the site of the explosion where he then announced the donation of a N250 million as capital base for the relief fund.

 

 

Sanwo-Olu sympathized with the families of the victims who lost their lives, those who sustained various degrees of injuries, and those who lost their properties.

 

Meanwhile, the Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr. Mele Kyari disclosed that the Abule Ado fire reignited Monday morning.

 

 

He explained in a tweet that the fire was reignited at 5:10 a.m. by residual fires in the neighbourhood.

 

 

However, Kyari disclosed that a combined team of NNPC, Nigerian Navy, Lagos State, and Federal Fire Services have effectively controlled the fire.

 

 

The GMD added that the team took steps to forestall any reignition.

Kyari said that the Managing Director of the Nigerian Pipelines and Storage Company Limited (NPSC), an NNPC subsidiary, was onsite with the governor for reassessment.
