The need for people in Kano state to avoid taking drugs without doctor’s prescription has again been stressed.
The Executive Director, Component Management and Mitigation Regional Council, Muhammad Mustapha Yahaya, stressed the need during a one-day training workshop on gender-based violence, child rape and drug abuse organized by the committee in Kano.
During the sensitization workshop, the participants agreed on the facts that drug abuse has now become one of the major threats to the teeming youths across the state.
While speaking to The Herald, Yahaya urged members of the public especially youths to distance themselves from such practice as they are the leaders of tomorrow.
He also lamented the increasing number of rape cases in the state which he says needs to be addressed urgently.
It also came to light during the training that people should not totally depend on government; rather they should do their best towards ensuring a morally-sound society.
