A member of the Board of Trustees of the All Progressives Congress, John Udoedehe has revealed how immediate-past governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio gave out huge sums of money to politicians at the caucus meetings of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Udoedehe, a former senator from Akwa Ibom under the PDP, said politicians were usually given N3 million as “transport” at every meeting organised to discuss the party’s affairs, Premium Times reported.
The former Minister of State for FCT admitted being given more than the N3million other politicians received.
Udoedehe said: “Godswill Akpabio used to give us at least N3million each as transport money every night we attended caucus meeting in Government House.”
“My own was special, it was more than N3million.”
Akpabio, who is now the Senate Minority Leader, was said to be unavailable for comments at the time of publishing the report.
It will be recalled that Akpabio was in October invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegations of graft perpetrated in his tenure as Governor of Akwa Ibom between 2007 and 2015
