Eze Henry Madumere, the father of former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has regained his freedom six days after he was kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The senior Madumere, who is the traditional ruler of Ezi-Mbieri in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, was abducted in Iho, Ikeduru Local Government Area on Friday.
In a Wednesday statement signed by his spokesman, Uche Onwuchekwa, the former Imo deputy governor confirmed his father’s release.

“The father of the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere’s father, HRH, Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere, has regained freedom from his abductors.
“Pa Madumere who is the traditional ruler of Ezi-Mbieri Autonomous Community was released by the kidnappers in the early morning of Wednesday.
“He was, however, taken straight to the hospital for a medical check-up. He arrived at his hometown, Achi, Ezi Mbieri Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.
“He was received with thunderous shouts of joy by his family and subjects,” the statement read.
