English Premier League side, Everton have sacked manager, Rafa Benitez after a disappointing six-month reign at Goodison Park.
The club announced Benitez’s sacking in a Sunday statement.
“Everton Football Club can confirm the departure of Rafa Benitez as First Team manager.
“Benitez, who joined Everton in June 2021, has left the Club with immediate effect.
“An update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course.”
His sacking followed a 2-1 loss to bottom-of-the-table Norwich City on Saturday.
Everton only managed one league win since September 25, narrowly defeating Arsenal in December.
The club are in 15th place after 19 games this season, just six points off the relegation places.
Benitez joined the club in June, replacing Carlo Ancelotti, who quit to join Real Madrid as manager.
